Job Overview
We are seeking a caring, organized, manager to oversee our weekly social Adult Day Care program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with or caregiving for older or compromised adults, and a demonstrated ability to interact positively with clients and stakeholders. The Auburn Respite Program serves cognitively compromised older adults by providing a day of respite for caregivers as well as activities and socialization for their loved ones. The Program Manager works on site, at the Auburn Senior Center 7 hours each Wednesday, and from home for an additional 8 hours each week, planning and coordinating the weekly sessions.
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage the activities of a social adult day care, including planning weekly programs that include arts & crafts, exercise, music, games, and reminiscing.
- Oversee the care and safety of an average of 10-12 senior participants each week.
- Supervise, recruit, and train a work force of 10-12 volunteers.
- Attend monthly Board Meeting and report the current status of program participation, activities and expenditures.
- Interact with funders, including City of Auburn, to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Maintain client and volunteer records, including attendance and progress notes.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with caregivers, volunteers, facility managers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience working with/caregiving for older adults.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience coordinating group activities, beneficial.
- Supervisory or management experience a plus.
- High School graduate or GED required.
