What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Receptionist position at Auburn South Veterinary Hospital?

Employment type: full-time or part time positions considered for the right candidate.
We are a 3.5 doctor small animal clinic in need of a veterinary receptionist. Ideally, applicants would have some animal work experience & exposure and be familiar with Cornerstone Software. The position can be full time (approximately 36 hours per week) or part time (about 27 hours per week). Work hours vary, but typically include 1 week day off. We operate Monday thru Friday only.
The job WILL include 8a-6pm day shifts.
NO WEEKENDS.
Candidates MUST: enjoy working with animals, work well with humans, enjoy working with the public and be positive, kind, outgoing, professional, dedicated, dependable, detailed oriented and looking for long term employment.
Duties/tasks include, but are not limited to:
*Customer Service- answering phones, scheduling and confirming appointments, checking-in clients while reviewing patient records, provide and explain treatment costs, process payments, appropriate record keeping, processing end-of-day/month/year reports, etc.
* Animal Care(as needed)- cleaning cages, assisting with packaging laboratory tests. Handling and cleaning up urine and fecal material is part of the job.
*Hospital Maintenance- sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning windows, dusting, general disinfecting of the clinic, handling and removal of animal waste, etc.
Requirements- provide excellent client and animal care, good communication skills, the ability to lift up to 40#, work with and without direct supervision, adapt well to different needs and preferences of your fellow coworkers, feel comfortable asking questions when a task is unclear.
