The Auburn University at Montgomery, College of Business, School of Accountancy invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Director of the School of Accountancy. Full Professor is preferred although advanced Associate Professors will be considered. The Director position is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position with a usual course load of three courses per academic year. The School of Accountancy is separately accredited by AACSB. The Director represents the School to stakeholders such as public practice firms, governmental organizations, business entities, groups like the Alabama Society of CPAs, and AUM alumni, as well as the larger community. The appointment begins August 16, 2025.
Candidates must have a doctorate from an AACSB accredited institution or its equivalent;
must be research active (Scholarly academic per AACSB standards); and must have an academic record and teaching ability sufficient to be appointed at a full or associate professor level.
Experience in the AACSB accreditation process, academic administrative experience, a CPA designation (or an equivalent), and interest in data analytics or AI are all preferred.

The School of Accountancy Director’s key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Communicating and implementing college and university policies to the School of Accountancy, and advocating for School of Accountancy’s needs to the college and university, managing the AACSB process for the School of Accountancy, supervising the Masters of Accountancy program along with the MAcc advisor.
- Fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships with external entities.
- Encouraging and supporting good teaching, scholarly activity, and professional development within the School of Accountancy.
- Planning and executing a strategic direction for the School of Accountancy, building and staffing the schedule of classes, overseeing the School of Accountancy budget and other resources, fostering team building, managing the School of Accountancy and its staff, and working with diverse faculty and students in the School of Accountancy and across campus to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Working with the faculty to develop and review standards, curricula, and procedures, which provide adequate preparation of graduates for professional or further academic endeavor and leading student recruitment and retention efforts and ensuring the School of Accountancy majors are appropriately advised.
