Duties and Responsibilities:
Advanced Technologies is seeking a full time Web Developer / Graphic Designer to provide support and maintenance services for existing client’s, Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE), website. The successful candidate would be expected to develop and create the look, layout, and features of the ALSDE website as defined by ALSDE and perform the following:
- Provide support and maintenance Services for existing ALSDE website.
- Development of new website features and functionality as defined by ALSDE.
- Perform any other closely related professional services typically associated with website development, maintenance, and support, including but not limited to activities such as:
- Writing and editing content
- Designing webpage layout
- Determining technical requirements
- Updating websites
- Creating back up files
- Solving code problems
- Training
- Preparation of documentation
- Conduct technical presentations
- End-user interface
- Other problem-solving tasks
Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of current developments in Information Technology applications.
- Knowledge of standalone and client/server applications in Windows environment.
- Documented experience in the use of Microsoft development systems, i.e., Visual Studio, SQL, .NET, Visual Basic, VB Scripts, JavaScript, HTML, XML, SQL Server, Transact-SQL.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript for rapid prototyping
- Documented experience in basic and advanced web design
- Documented experience in graphic and multimedia design.
- Documented experience in multimedia programming and technology
- Knowledge of content management
- Problem analysis skills.
- Ability to work on and respond to multiple projects at one time.
- Ability to apply relevant software & hardware tools.
- Ability to continuously learn and keep abreast of technological trends.
- Ability to manage project activities.
- Ability to coordinate the work of others.
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Proficiency with MS Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) and Visio.
- Ability to work independently and not rely on State or other team members for direction.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field with two (2) to three (3) years of professional design experience. Portfolio of strong creative work.
