Auto Paint Technician

Overview
Auchey Restorations the area’s top classic car restoration shop, is looking for a well-seasoned auto body/auto painter to join our team of great technicians.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Minimum 10 years’ experience

· Must possess a valid PA driver’s license

· Be able to work on classic cars to new vehicle model year

· Welding and fabrication a plus

· Paint work is done with solvent-based system

· Perform classic car restoration body and paint work

· Perform wet sanding and polishing

· Must have own tools

· Make cosmetic repairs

· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

· Use special equipment to restore damaged metal frames and body sections back to

· customers specifications

· Able to develop appropriate and efficient methods for each job

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. A Minimum of 10 years of body shop experience is strongly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The employee must be proficient in U.S. English language which includes speaking, reading, and writing. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business texts, customer documents, technical procedures, or governmental and safety regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and suppliers. Excellent written and oral communications skills as well as interpersonal skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

None required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

· The employee must wear personal protection equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and hearing protection in PPE-designated areas.

· Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.

· Ability to perform repetitive tasks; manual dexterity.

· Vision abilities required include close, distance, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will be working in the shop 100% of the time. The plant and office are non-smoking environments. The employee should expect warm working conditions during the summer months in the shop.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
