Job Description
The Lead, PCB Designer is responsible for driving the development of advanced PCB layouts for L3Harris Technologies' cutting-edge radio communication equipment. The role includes technical leadership and mentorship of less experienced designers, as well as collaborating with a cross-functional engineering team. The designer will use advanced technologies like fine lines, microvias, stacked microvias, and via-in-pad for designing rigid, rigid-flex, and flexible printed circuit boards.
Key Responsibilities:
- PCB Design: Create complex PCB designs using Mentor PADS software, integrating electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing inputs.
- Collaboration: Work with various engineering disciplines to resolve fabrication, assembly, and test issues, ensuring product success.
- Mentorship: Guide less experienced PCB designers and share expertise in layout processes and methodologies.
- Tool Usage: Use tools like Polar Speedstack and Polar Si9000 to create PCB stackups and model controlled impedance.
- Strategic Leadership: Participate in peer design reviews and software upgrades, while helping maintain and create PCB design guidelines.
- Technical Direction: Lead in providing strategic direction for the PCB layout design process and tools to enhance capabilities.
