Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Parts Advisor with VW of Fairfield & Audi Napa Valley, you are responsible for accurately and efficiently specifying and filling correct parts for technicians, retail, and wholesale customers and for providing an exceptional customer experience at all times.

Punctual and regular attendance.
Understand the manufacturer’s parts system and ordering procedures to efficiently handle orders and requests for information from telephone and over-the-counter customers.
Responsible for accurately specifying and identifying parts needed to meet customer requirements, so the number of parts returned due to errors is low.
Promote the sale of appropriate parts and accessories by accurately identifying customers' needs and promoting the benefits of using genuine OEM parts.
Maintain accurate sales and inventory records of all invoiced items. Accurately cost out parts and accessories on counter tickets and repair orders.
Generate goodwill by courteously and promptly greeting and serving every customer anywhere on dealership property. Listen for and expediently answer phones.
Assist internal, wholesale, and retail customers in identifying and obtaining needed parts to provide a high level of personal service.
Establish ongoing support relationships with wholesale customers by answering questions and assisting them in obtaining needed parts.
Follow up on special order items; notify the customer and technician when received.
Follow up the sales process by issuing parts and accessories to technicians, preparing and pulling delivery orders, and will call.
Record lost sales due to the unavailability of parts.
Ability to facilitate online transactions for Parts, including, but not limited to, Amazon and eBay.
Adhere to QMS/EXCELL guidelines and programs.
Follow good housekeeping procedures to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of counters, displays, shelves, bins, and customer contact areas.
Maintain a good working relationship with peers, Service Advisors, Technicians, Shop Foreman, and other managers to effectively, efficiently, and positively communicate ideas and information.
Customer Relations: attentive to customer needs and responsive to inquiries where appropriate.
Team Effort: demonstrate a concern for meeting team/departmental needs through activities such as accepting overtime, following up on needed parts, helping other technicians, and training apprentices.
Practice safe work habits, follow the company’s safety policies, and use personal protective equipment as required.
Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.

Handle all vehicles with care, keep them clean, and take precautions to protect all vehicles at the dealership.
Education, Experience and Certification
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
Prior experience as a Parts Counter Person is preferred.
The ability to work independently with limited supervision and the motivation to increase product knowledge continually should be evident.
The self-concept of professionals should be coupled with concern for quality service and customer satisfaction.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Must possess and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Requires frequent reaching, bending, repetitive hand movements, twisting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, sitting, squatting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions in both summer and winter.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional dealership environment.
The manager will determine scheduled shifts, with rotating shifts throughout the work week.
Must maintain a clean, safe working environment at all times.
