Scope of Work: IT & Cybersecurity Contractor

Digital Hearing Aids Inc. (dba Audibel Hearing Aid Centers) is seeking an IT & Cybersecurity Contractor to provide comprehensive IT support and cybersecurity services across our organization, which includes 13 stores on the eastern side of Illinois. Responsibilities include completing planned upgrades and replacements, ongoing maintenance, security management, troubleshooting, and strategic project execution. This is a contract opportunity ideal for an individual or company that can provide remote services as well as the occasional in-office visit to any of our 13 locations.

Audibel Hearing Aids operates across 13 office locations, delivering advanced hearing solutions and exceptional patient care. We are looking for an experienced and reliable IT & Cybersecurity Contractor to support our growing technical infrastructure and ensure our systems remain secure, compliant, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Support & Maintenance

- Provide remote and on-site IT support for store locations and the corporate office.
- Maintain and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Ensure regular system updates and patches for all company devices.
- Manage inventory of IT equipment and recommend necessary upgrades or replacements.
- Offer user support, including training and documentation for employees on IT best practices.
- Be available for emergent issues while also working on longer-term projects to ensure organizational success and innovation.
- Create documentation to aid offices in troubleshooting issues

2. Cybersecurity Management
- Monitor and manage network security to protect against cyber threats.
- Implement security policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard company data.
- Ensure compliance with industry security standards and best practices.
- Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to enhance cybersecurity measures.
- Monitor company devices and network activity to ensure adherence to security
policies, including
- Restricting access to unauthorized or non-business-related websites.

3. Network & Systems Administration

- Manage and maintain the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Ensure reliable internet and intranet connectivity across all locations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues affecting business operations.
- Administer and maintain cloud services, data backups, and disaster recovery systems.
- Monitor, update, and maintain workstations, servers, and network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.

Major Projects (Current and upcoming)

The IT and Cybersecurity Contractor will oversee and execute two critical projects for 2025:

1. Complete Replacement Upgrades

- Implement the transition of all company computers to Windows 11 and install new monitors.
- Assess hardware compatibility and recommend any additional necessary upgrades.
- Ensure minimal disruption to business operations during the migration process.
- Provide training and support for employees on the new system.

2. Email System Migration (WebMail to Microsoft 365)

- Assess the current WebMail (SiteGround email system) and determine the best migration strategy to Microsoft 365.
- Execute the transition with minimal downtime.
- Ensure email security, backup solutions, and setup of employee access.
- Support the onboarding of a shared cloud-based network
- Support training for employees on the new Microsoft 36 platforms including; Outlook, Teams, and cloud systems.

Future Systems Implementations

- Provide support for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of additional IT systems as needed.
- Assess new technology solutions that align with business needs and security best practices.
- Assist with software rollouts, system integrations, and employee training for new technologies.
- Ensure all new implementations meet cybersecurity and compliance standards.

Travel Requirements

- Occasional travel to store locations and offices will be required for on-site support
and project implementation. Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to company policy.

Reporting & Communication

- Provide regular updates on IT and cybersecurity status, issues, and resolutions.
- Maintain documentation of IT assets, configurations, and support logs.
- Collaborate closely with company leadership to align IT strategy with business needs.

Contractor Qualifications

- Proven experience in IT support, cybersecurity, and network administration.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, cloud services, and email platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues effectively.
- Experience with IT security protocols, risk assessment, and compliance.
- Strong project management skills for overseeing major system migrations.
- Exceptional communication skills and an ability to disseminate complex subject matters to those who may not understand.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance is a plus.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 25 per week
