Seeking a Model Validation Senior Associate to join a growing team in the NY Metro area. This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days on site. (No sponsorship available)
Responsibilities
- As part of the Model Risk Management team, you will be responsible for performing hands-on validations and reviews and writing quality model validation reports.
- Collaborate with the Project Management Office to help maintain a viable model validation schedule, coordinate and oversee model validation and review performed by model validators to ensure timeliness, quality, and effective challenges.
- Work with model owners, developers and users on all aspects of model validation and issue resolution and collaborate with the Operations & Management Assurance team to ensure the highest quality of validation, annual review, and Model Performance Monitoring reports.
- Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalating issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare model validation and review presentations to the Model Risk Governance Council for model approval, model issue tracking, and resolution.
- Present model validation, review results, and present resolutions to the Model Risk Governance Council.
Qualifications:
- 6 years of related experience in model risk management/ model validation (ideally in financial markets)
- Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated knowledge of the financial market products and services.
- Solid understanding of model risk management (MRM) principles, including the verification of models against their design objectives and business use cases.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements on Model Risk Management.
- Practical experience in model validation and/or model development in compliance with regulatory guidelines such as SR 11-7 and CCAR rules.
- Hands-on experience with the validation of financial models, ensuring that they meet performance expectations, assumptions, and limitations.
- Experience working with internally developed models and third-party models (vendor-based or consultant-developed).
- Experience writing model validation reports and presenting findings to senior stakeholders and upper management
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including model owners, developers, and users to ensure effective validation and issue resolution.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, SAS, or C/C used for model validation and performance monitoring.
