What are the responsibilities and job description for the IEC Engineer position at Audubon Companies?
Audubon is currently seeking an IEC Engineer to join our project team working onsite at a client's plant in Pasadena, TX. The IEC Engineer will provide instrument, electrical, and controls engineering expertise for supporting day to day maintenance and operations, developing and implementing small I&E reliability projects, and providing I&E Turnaround and capital project support.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Failure and reliability data analysis.
- IEC improvements and optimization based on operating necessity.
- Resolving and planning for obsolescence issues concerning the facilities instrumentation, electrical, and control systems.
- Designing and executing smaller maintenance/reliability-type projects including modification and/or addition to facilities DCS, PLC, field instrumentation and control, motor control systems, and process analytical systems.
- Development of maintenance and reliability programs and procedures.
- Maintaining an effective rapport with Maintenance, Operations, Field support, and Project Engineering groups.
- Responsible for root cause failure analysis, recommendations and implementation of modification of equipment and procedures to prevent recurrence as needed.
- Maintenance support and specification of 480 VAC motors and controls.
- Maintenance support and specification of AC and DC variable speed drives.
- Maintenance support and specification of plant process instrumentation
- Interpreting the National Electric Code
- Following plant specific practices, standards, guidelines, and procedures for preparation of estimates, scopes, specifications, design, and other deliverables.
- Developing hardware, software, functional and user specifications for IEC systems and associated components.
- Evaluating all IEC aspects of engineering to ensure all project objectives including safety, technical correctness, budget, constructability, schedule, maintainability, and operability are met.
- Interfacing with other engineering disciplines/departments, customers, and vendors/suppliers to ensure successful development and execution of projects.
- Reviewing and approving IEC specifications, drawings, and other documentation; assist in compiling construction packages.
- Providing field support, and participating in check out, commissioning and start up.
- Additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in a petrochemical manufacturing facility including related instrument and electrical maintenance/reliability engineering experience.
- Experience with specification and sizing of control valves, valve actuators, and transmitters.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills and be able to evaluate and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure alignment with plant goals while acting with a sense of urgency (when required).
- Ability to effectively collaborate and work with all levels of the organization including operations, technical, plant management, contractors, vendors, and business unit personnel.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolutions skills.
- Proficiency in all standard MS Office products, and SAP Plant Maintenance and Project Management Modules.
- Experience in SIS, Controls and/or Analyzers preferred.
