General Summary: Pleasantly greets every guest who enters the tennis shop and grounds; assists all customers with merchandise selection and check out transactions; handles all monetary transactions; answers the phone quickly and books court reservations; maintains neat, clean, and organized tennis shop; assists with merchandising and monthly inventory; must be friendly and enthusiastic and demonstrate outstanding customer service. Groundskeeping duties include brushing and lining the courts and other duties assigned by the Head Tennis Professional.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet and enthusiastically provide each customer/group with the court conditions and any other pertinent information.
- Responsible for making reservations and assigning players to courts
- Accurately processes the collection of retail and court rental sales by utilizing POS.
- Making court reservations while working closely with the Head Professional to ensure smooth operation and traffic flow on the courts.
- Ensures the Pro Shop and equipment are clean and in working order on a daily basis.
- Coordinates displays, organizes storage for back-up stock, folds and straightens merchandise, oversees Pro Shop cleaning.
- Opening and closing the Pro Shop according to procedures established by Head Professional.
- Assist in the coordination and services for tournaments and other special activities.
- Communicates and enforces court rules including dress code and beverage policies.
- Performs light custodial operations such as sweeping, mopping, washing equipment and collecting trash as needed.
- Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same.
- Brushing and lining the courts.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Professional

- Walk individual to destination instead of pointing; offer assistance to people who look confused.
- Assume ownership of potential safety hazards (wipe-up spill, pick up trash). Always have the camera-ready look.

- Keep unpleasant concerns behind closed doors (vent backstage).
Experience:
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
- Must have knowledge of the game of tennis
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Professional appearance as outlined in the Audubon Handbook
- Must be able to work independently and function as a member of a team
Education:
- High school diploma
Software Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Machinery/Tools/Equipment Requirements:
- Must have the ability to use mobile devices, computer, fax, scanner, phone and copy machine.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk or sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to frequently climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach.
- Must have close visual acuity in order to operate equipment.
- Must be able to work outdoors under conditions ranging from extreme hot to extreme cold.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and frequently up to 20 lbs using proper lifting techniques
