Job Title: Finance and Donor Relations Coordinator
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Executive Director
Position Summary: The Finance and Donor Relations Coordinator is key in managing financial processes and fostering strong relationships with donors. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, oversees donation processing, and supports fundraising initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about donor stewardship and financial accountability.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Must be self-motivated, creative, eager to socialize and create trusting relationships or strengthen relationships with key constituencies.
- Ensures consistent alignment of organizational mission and vision of the organization to the community
- Maintain discipline, safety, and control of the site, including, but not limited to, supervising, supporting, and evaluating staff as directed by the Executive Director.
- Works outside regular office hours when required, including evening events, weekends and additional hours during peak seasons.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting:
- Manage financial records, including tracking donations, grants, and sponsorships.
- Process payments, invoices, and reimbursements in compliance with financial policies.
- Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and reconciliation of accounts.
- Maintain donor and financial databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Coordinate with external accountants or auditors as needed.
Donor Relations & Fundraising Support:
- Lead the efforts to broaden AKZ's donor base.
- Process and acknowledge donations in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate donor records and generate reports as needed.
- Support donor stewardship efforts, including thank-you letters, donor updates, and event coordination.
- Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns and events.
- Ensure continued cultivation of past and current donors to enhance their relationship with Audubon Kids Zone and increase the likelihood of continued contributions.
Administrative & Other Support:
- Collaborate with the development and finance teams to streamline processes.
- Ensure compliance with financial and donor-related policies and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization's mission.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Associate's degree in business/accounting
2 years of experience in finance, accounting, donor relations, or nonprofit fundraising.
Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting software, and donor databases.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for nonprofit work and donor engagement.
Experience in nonprofit financial management and compliance.
Knowledge of fundraising best practices and donor stewardship.
Familiarity with CRM systems such as QuickBooks and Bloomerang.

The position may require the employee to use an Audubon Kids Zone vehicle to transport students occasionally.
