What You’ll Do

Step into a role where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a real difference. As an EMT with Audubon Nature Institute EMS, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests, employees, and community. Here’s what you can expect:
- Be the First Line of Care: Respond to a wide range of first aid and emergency calls.
- Create a Guest Experience of Outstanding Quality: Combine medical expertise with outstanding service to leave a lasting impression of care and professionalism.
- Collaborate with a Dynamic Team: Work with passionate team members and other departments who are dedicated to our mission and celebrate the wonders of nature.
- Thrive in a Unique Environment: You will use all your current pre-hospital skills and learn specialized skills and response like Exotic Reptile Envenomation, Diver Down, Ultrapotent Opioid Exposure, and Dangerous Animal Attacks.
- Respond to First Aid and Emergency Calls: Provide immediate medical care to guests, employees, volunteers, and contractors who need assistance, ranging from basic first aid to the EMT-Level.
- Document Patient Interactions: Accurately and concisely record all patient contacts, ensuring documentation is clear, complete, and free of errors.
- Maintain Patient Confidentiality: Treat all medical information with strict confidentiality to uphold privacy expectations.
- Perform Equipment Checks: Inspect and restock emergency medical equipment, such as AEDs, oxygen, and other EMT-Level medical equipment. Use and maintain various medical and operational equipment, including vehicles and golf carts.
- Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure supplies are adequately stocked for operational readiness.
- Stay Informed: Keep up to date with departmental protocols, regional protocols, and inter-departmental training, such as with Animal Staff or Hospital Staff.
- Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: Provide a welcoming and professional demeanor, offering assistance outside of medical care to create a guest experience of outstanding quality.
- Enforce Safety Standards: Proactively identify and address safety hazards, such as spills, heat, or unsafe practices, to ensure a secure environment for all.
- Adhere to Scheduling Requirements: Maintain regular attendance per guidelines.
- Maintain a positive attitude and a strong sense of accountability, fostering a collaborative team environment where everyone feels empowered to contribute.
