What are the responsibilities and job description for the Back Of House (Cooks, Prep Cooks) position at AUF Professional Services?
Plaza Mariachi members are to perform daily tasks and duties that may include preparing recipes and guest orders with accuracy and efficiency, providing quality service, and taking pride in working behind the scenes to prepare quality products for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Arrange, prepare, and break down food displays while maintaining the utmost level of cleanliness and professionalism
- Properly store, rotate, and manage all food products following local, state, federal, and company guidelines and procedures
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
- Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, ovens and griddles
- Safely use knives and other sharp utensils to prepare menu items
- Professional cooking practice, including handling knives and ensuring safety of food, team members, and guests
- Carry out other duties assigned by the manager on duty
Qualifications
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
- Must have great listening skills
- Must be reliable
- Must possess ServSafe certification
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Good attention to detail, organizational, time management, problem-solving
- Culinary degree is preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the restaurant business, preferred
