Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive compliance program that ensures the organization adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Monitor regulatory changes and industry developments to ensure the organization’s compliance framework remains current and effective.
- Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and internal policies.
- Investigate compliance breaches and manage the resolution process, including reporting to regulatory authorities as required.
- Advise senior management and the board on compliance risks, issues, and strategies for mitigation.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and external advisors on compliance matters and represent the organization in regulatory discussions.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to the board of directors and senior management, highlighting key compliance risks and activities.
- Lead and develop a team of compliance professionals, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance is integrated into business operations and strategic planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CCEP, CCO, CAMS) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership position.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and managing compliance risks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in compliance management software and tools.
- High ethical standards and a strong commitment to integrity and transparency.
