- Design and develop embedded hardware systems including microcontrollers, microprocessors, sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software engineers, firmware engineers, and product designers) to define system requirements and architecture.
- Conduct feasibility studies and prototyping to evaluate design concepts, components, and technologies for embedded systems.
- Perform schematic capture, PCB layout design, and circuit analysis using tools such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or KiCad.
- Select components, peripherals, and sensors based on performance requirements, cost considerations, and availability.
- Develop test plans, procedures, and specifications for hardware validation and verification.
- Conduct testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of embedded systems to identify and resolve hardware-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., EMC/EMI, safety certifications) in hardware designs.
- Document design specifications, test results, and technical documentation for hardware components and systems.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and advancements in embedded hardware design and development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience as an Embedded Hardware Engineer, Hardware Design Engineer, or similar role designing and developing embedded systems.
- Strong knowledge of digital and analog circuit design, PCB layout, signal integrity, and power management.
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad).
- Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M series, PIC, AVR) and microprocessors (e.g., ARM Cortex-A series, Intel processors).
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, and wireless protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment for testing and debugging (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
