Job Summary

The SQL Data Analyst will be integral in analyzing data flows and translating business requirements into actionable insights. This role requires a mastery of SQL and a keen ability to understand and visualize data to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize SQL database queries to meet the data needs of the organization.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document reporting requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain relational databases for data storage and data mining.
• Perform data cleanup and transformation as required.
• Generate and deliver complex reports and recommendations based on analysis.
• Monitor and optimize database performance and tuning of SQL queries.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives.
• Educate and train colleagues on data analytic techniques and best practices.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
• Proven experience as a data analyst or business data analyst, particularly using SQL extensively.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
