- Policy Development and Land Use Planning:
- Analyze zoning regulations, land use policies, and urban design guidelines to inform development proposals and planning strategies.
- Develop comprehensive land use plans, master plans, and zoning ordinances that promote sustainable development and growth.
- Transportation and Infrastructure Planning:
- Collaborate with engineers, transportation planners, and architects to integrate transportation systems and infrastructure into urban plans.
- Advocate for multi-modal transportation options, pedestrian-friendly design, and sustainable transportation solutions.
- Environmental Sustainability and Resilience:
- Incorporate principles of environmental sustainability, resilience, and climate adaptation into urban planning strategies and development projects.
- Recommend green infrastructure, energy-efficient design, and conservation measures to mitigate environmental impacts.
- Regulatory Compliance and Permitting:
- Navigate regulatory processes, permitting requirements, and compliance standards related to urban planning and development.
- Prepare planning reports, environmental assessments, and permit applications for regulatory review and approval.
- Data Analysis and Spatial Modeling:
- Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and other data analysis tools to conduct spatial analysis, demographic studies, and growth projections.
