Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Record and maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records using electronic systems.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed during patient visits.
- Provide support with medical coding for insurance purposes when required.
- Manage front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and assisting with patient inquiries as a dental receptionist.
- Uphold strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Engage in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and equipment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical documentation practices is beneficial.
- Proficiency in using Epic or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
