ASSOCIATE PROJECT MANAGER
Job Summary
The Associate Project Manager (PM) position provides a pathway to Construction Services (CS) project management by providing candidates with practical field experience and technical skills. This position will work closely with the CS project management team to learn the overall skills required to be a Project Manager, including developing costs and scopes for next steps; preparing HASPs and field instructions; evaluating and contacting subcontractors; client support activities as needed by project team; developing an understanding of CS work and workflow; and internal training to understand CS services. The Associate PMs report to the Service Area Principal with support from the Project Managers.
Essential Functions
Education: B.S. in Construction Management . environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology or a related field.
Recommended Experience: 2 - 4 years of practical experience
Skills: Strong verbal/written communication
Additional requirements: Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and physically capable of operating vehicles safely
100% field/site visit travel (environmental job hazards)
This classification requires travel to various client locations. Travel typically involves day trips within the state or neighboring states, resulting in longer workdays; and may include extended and/or further travel, resulting in multiple days and overnights. Long-distance drives and air travel may be required. Shift work and holiday work may be required on an as needed and sometimes ongoing basis.

Essential Functions
- Perform work in accordance with established health and safety policies to include site specific requirements
- Develop knowledge of remedial construction techniques to include but not limited to UST closure projects, dig & haul projects, treatment system installations, soil mixing, plant decommissioning and demolition
- Develop problem-solving ability to address project delays, budget issues, client concerns and personnel issues
- Prepare customer invoices
- Track project financial performance
- Participate in internal project progress meetings
- Support budgeting and scoping of proposals under the direction of Project Manager, Service Area Principal, or Managing Principal
- Prepare Health and Safety Plans (HASPs)
- Become familiar with CRM and electronic filing system
- Handle Health and Safety paperwork for incidents involving injury, property damage, accidental releases, and near misses
- Manage notifications for public locates and scheduling of private locates
- Conduct site safety inspections as part of project protocols
- Perform daily record keeping and reporting of time/hours billed, and expenses.
- Perform regulatory and technical research on projects
- Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project
