SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Job Summary
A Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing technical, administrative and operational activities related to Tanks projects and personnel. The purpose of this position is to grow, manage and ensure the profitability of Tanks. This position is also responsible for coordinating integration throughout the August Mack organization. In addition to maintaining profitability, project performance, and integration, the Project Manager II is responsible for mentoring staff to provide greater variety of opportunities within the organization. The duties of this position are carried out with wide latitude, judgment and discretion, under general supervision and direction of the Managing Principal of Construction Services.
Essential Functions
Education: B.S. in Construction Management. environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology or a related field.
Recommended Experience: 7-10 years of experience in construction, supervision/management, environmental remediation experience is a plus
Skills: Strong verbal/written communication
Additional requirements: Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and physically capable of operating vehicles safely
75% or more field/site visit travel (environmental job hazards), 25% office (controlled environment)
This classification requires travel to various client locations. Travel typically involves day trips within the state or neighboring states, resulting in longer workdays; and may include extended and/or further travel, resulting in multiple days and overnights. Long-distance drives and air travel may be required. Shift work and holiday work may be required on an as needed and sometimes ongoing basis.

Essential Functions
- Provide guidance and training to personnel involved in Tanks projects to ensure their professional development and successful project execution
- Focus on safety, scheduling, budget, and quality during project execution
- Support and enforce health and safety requirements associated with project execution, employee training (Safety Skills), and H&S metrics (safety inspections)
- Assist in defining project scopes, managing schedules and deadlines, coordinating client relations, and ensuring accurate documentation
- Develop, implement, enforce, and refine company policies and procedures to align with and support organizational goals
- Support technical project management efforts by effectively directing technical staff and coordinating/facilitating client communications
- Collaborate on operational enhancements, staffing strategies, and hiring initiatives by leveraging Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and aligning with service area objectives
- Ensure the quality of Tanks work product
- Assist in the development and execution of the annual CS business plan
- Analyze financial data (KPIs, WIPs, and Revenue Reports) to evaluate performance and forecast Tanks revenue
- Assess staffing requirements to support growth, driven by performance metrics and business needs
- Provide personnel management for Field Supervisors/Technicians/Administrative Tanks personnel
- Conduct project and annual performance reviews, provide coaching and corrective actions, and deliver timely feedback to recognize strengths and address areas for improvement
- Perform daily record keeping and reporting of time/hours billed, and expenses
- Partner in identifying future leaders within the service area and implementing development programs to prepare them for advanced responsibilities
- Maintain a strong understanding of the morale and dynamics of Tanks
- Support and assist business development efforts to secure and execute internal and external work by:
- Attending client meetings as Relationship Holder
- Assisting technical staff with bids and estimates
- Ensuring Tanks resumes and project descriptions are prepared and updated
- Develop new business opportunities through relationships with existing clients
Education: B.S. in Construction Management. environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology or a related field.

- Other combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
- Understand remedial construction techniques to include but not limited to UST closure projects, dig & haul projects, treatment system installations, soil mixing, plant decommissioning and demolition
- Wide range of knowledge of OSHA construction standards and able to interpret regulations and guidance
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project or similar
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Understand waste disposal regulations
- Customer-focused and results-oriented
