The County of Augusta is accepting applications for a Campground Attendant for Natural Chimneys Park & Campground.
Campground Attendants perform hospitality work involving camping reservations, camp store sales, picnic shelter rentals and the collection of associated fees. Campground Attendants serve as the primary point of contact for park visitors, and provide information regarding campsites, park amenities, local activities and attractions. Campground Attendants perform custodial services in the Visitor Center, keeping the camp store clean and presentable for guests, and perform occasional manual labor throughout the park as needed.
General Requirements:
Authority:
Position reports to the Natural Chimneys Park Coordinator.
Duties:
1) Greet park visitors and provide orientation to the park
2) Answer phone calls and handle them appropriately (make camping reservations, take and deliver messages, etc.)
3) Process camping reservations. This includes but is not limited to requests, confirmations, fee collection, refunds, cancellations, camper check-ins
4) Process requests for picnic shelter reservations and collection of appropriate fees
5) Complete daily reports and the like to comply with established park accounting and operating procedures
6) Maintain the Visitor Center in a clean, orderly and inviting environment
7) Provide custodial services as needed
8) Provide positive image of park to visitors by quickly seeking to resolve conflicts or complaints
9) Enforce park rules and regulations by assisting in maintaining civil order on park property for the safety/security of park visitors
10) Performs other duties as assigned
This position is a part-time position, and it does not have County benefits. Campground Attendants generally work 24-30 hours per week. The work schedule includes weekends and holidays.
Applicants must have a valid VA driver’s license. Candidates will have to go through a criminal background check. - Ability to interact successfully with varied clientele
- Ability to tactfully enforce park rules/regulations
