Enjoy working outside in a park atmosphere, the County of Augusta has a position open for a year-round part time Park Technician I. This position is assigned to the Facilities Management Department, and reports to the Grounds and Park Facility Supervisor. Tasks includes groundskeeping, general facility repairs, and custodial services for the county’s parks and public facilities. Position responsibilities will be critical in preparing parks, recreational facilities, easements and other County owned property for use by the public.

Essential Duties:
Applicant should have a general knowledge of groundskeeping, facility maintenance, and custodial duties. Applicant should be able to provide examples of self-motivation and the ability to prioritize.
Valid VA driver’s license is required.
Salary/Benefits:
This position is a part-time position with no County benefits. Hourly rate is $14.27 per hour. The work schedule is typically 3-4 days per week, 7am-3:30pm, with weekend hours required between May 1 and October 31 for special events or as needed.
Candidate will have to go through a criminal background check and drug screening. DMV driving record will be requested at time of employment, if applicable.

- Assist with construction, repair and maintenance of park facilities, buildings, campground, trails, and easements.
- Assist with custodial duties at park facilities and campground.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as dictated by specific job task.
- Work well with others
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Be attentive to detail.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
