Mascot Team

The Augusta GreenJackets are seeking high energy, organized, people-oriented Mascot Team Members interested in gaining experience in the sports industry. The members of this team will be instrumental in assisting Auggie, T.D. the Rally Turtle, and other costumed characters on game days and during assigned special events.

 

Mascot Performers will promote the Augusta GreenJackets at various team and community appearances and all home games.  Must be able to attend majority of pre-determined events.  Individuals must be athletically and physically fit, provide a positive attitude, and be detail oriented.
 

This role requires a ‘can do’ attitude and will reside within the GreenJackets Game Entertainment team and will report directly to the Community Relations Manager.

 

This is a part-time, seasonal, game day position.

 

The main duties of this role include:

·        Ensure the completion of all in-game activations assigned in the game day script

·        Ensure the mascot is upholding all scheduled needs including skits, activations, sponsorship and ticketing team requirements, autograph sessions, appearance requests and other necessities on game days

·        Assist in the set-up, completion, and clean-up of all mascot skits and mascot needs

·        Interact with all fans to ensure a positive gameday and mascot experience for all 

Qualifications:

·        Have high energy and work ethic

·        Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and as part of a team, taking on tasks at all levels

·        High ethical standards and commitment to the organization’s core values

·        Previous mascot experience preferred

·        Flexible schedule. Must be able to work home games, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

·        Must be willing to work in outdoor conditions

·        Willingness for prolonged standing; able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds

·        Ability to perform under pressure and in front of large crowds

·        Physically and athletically fit and in good conditioning due to intensified heat within suit
