Under the supervision of the Office Manager, the Administrative Assistant:

  • performs duties as assigned that include receptionist, secretarial and operational duties for Physician Office Practice, while serving as the liaison between the patient, other staff and the physician
  • initiates implementation of processes and or has access to all operational components of the office as required by daily operation
  • has access to operational components of a practice includes access to physician’s office, medical records, medical supplies

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent required
  • One year general office support experience required
    • Medical office experience preferred
  • Requires a basic understanding of general office routines and procedures with the ability to file accurately
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; proficient with computers to include keyboarding, basic navigation and use of email (Outlook)
  • Ability to work with multi-line phone and computer systems accurately and efficiently
  • Effective customer service and relationship building skills with patients, visitors and staff; ability to respect dignity of all patients and follow HIPAA rules without breaches in confidentiality
  • Ability to transcribe documents
  • Proficient listening, verbal and written communication skills
