The Director of Cardiac Cath & Interventional Procedural Labs will play a key leadership role in strategy/visioning, directing, and day-to-day operations of the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives & goals. Additionally, will lead in execution of development & sustaining physician relationships, program development/access, patient and referral source satisfaction, and budget preparation/profitability. The Director will integrate with the organization’s operations, participate in performance improvement activities, and ensure professional and regulatory compliance is achieved in all areas of responsibility. Responsible & available within respective area for the total number of hours that the unit is operational. Additionally, this position is part of the greater nursing division leadership team and will need to be an active member of that team and work toward the success of respective department as well as the greater organization.
Requirements
• Masters Degree in Nursing and/or healthcare related • Current BLS certification • ACLS within 6 months of employment • Current and valid RN license in VA or from a RN compact state; or Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT(R)) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with either of the following credentials: o Cardiovascular-Interventional RT (CV) credential, or o Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI) credential
• 3 years departmental management experience
Preferred:
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or • Nurse Executive, Board Certified (NE-BC) • 3 years of Cardiovascular Leadership experience

Ensures that all areas of responsibility always maintain a regulatory survey state of readiness through audits, chart review, and rounding. • Identifies and monitors the achievement of desired clinical outcomes to include patient assessment, physician orders, utilization of services, care coordination and documentation standards. • Supervises and ensures all departmental activities related to patient care. Ensures that patient care needs are met in an appropriate fashion and in a timely manner. • Participates in the development, implementation and review of departmental operating policies and procedures in accordance with organizational policies and procedures and requirements of regulatory agencies. Continually evaluates standards of nursing practice, policies and procedures, by reviewing patient care records, interviewing, and observing staff and patients. Policy and procedure manual reviewed and revised per facility policy. • Participates on assigned hospital quality improvement teams and disseminates information to team members appropriately and in a timely manner. • Directs, supervises, and participates in implementing planned changes and activities to improve service. Ensures the assessment of activities of the department, reviewing audit and QM events information as appropriate. • Develops and implements a plan for improvement (PIP) for departmental growth. Formulates long and short-term goals for department within the framework of organizational goals. Plans are recommended annually and reviewed/revised as needed. • Sets priorities, assigns responsibilities, and establishes appropriate timetables. Annually monitors and evaluates the accomplishment of departmental goals. Project future needs for service, space, equipment, material, revenue, and personnel. Recommendations are made as needed for changes in these areas. • Develops creative, innovative solutions t maximize efficiencies and workload of team members. • Maintains knowledge and awareness of trends and changing landscape impacting services/respective area by routine rounding on internal and external customers (patients, physicians, and referral sources) • Arranges for a qualified designated person to assume responsibilities and obligations when unavailable. (For Hospice and Home Health must be in writing and approved by governing body: pre-designated)
