What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEDICAL LAB SCIENTIST I - Shift 1pm-11pm Sign- On Bonus position at Augusta Health Brand?
Performs clinical testing in at least two of the following departments: Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology. Staff who work second or third shifts must be competent in all areas mentioned above. Receives specimens, performs clinical testing, understands method principles, performs quality controls and instrument maintenance, and interprets results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.
Education
• Associate Degree in Chemical, Physical or Biological Science or Medical Laboratory Technology; OR,
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, Physical or Biological Science
Preferred:
- Master's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science
Licensure/Certification
• Certification as a Medical Lab Scientist or Medical Lab Technician or eligible for certification to be obtained within 12 months of date of hire.
