What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN HEALTH EDUCATOR position at Augusta Health Brand?
In response to identified community health needs, the RN Health Educator will develop, implement, and evaluate community health education programs and initiatives for minority, vulnerable and medically underserved residents of the local area.
Position Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or RN with Bachelor’s Degree in Health Promotion, Health Education or similar area.
Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
1-3 years of clinical and/or nursing experience preferred.
3-5 years of community and/or public health experience preferred.
Licensure:
Active RN License, Commonwealth of Virginia.
Competencies:
- Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating health education initiatives in community-based settings.
- Demonstrates ability to work on a collegial level with all Augusta Health team members, community organization, patients, volunteers and community members.
- Proficient project planning skills for coordinating community health programs.
- Experience evaluating the effectiveness and impact of programs by tracking indicator metrics.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; adept at public speaking and persuasive presentations to motivate health behavior change.
- Advance level computer skills, including proficient with Microsoft Suite.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, independent judgement and business acumen needed to work independently, as part of the department team and when serving as a representative in the community.
- Demonstrates use of department biometric testing equipment for screenings and ability to give immunizations and vaccinations following prescribed protocols.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
