Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shower/Restorative Aide to join our team. In this dual-role position, you will assist residents with bathing and grooming while also supporting their restorative care needs. This is a vital role in ensuring the comfort, dignity, and well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with bathing, showering, and personal hygiene, ensuring their comfort and privacy.
- Perform restorative care activities, including passive/active range-of-motion exercises, ambulation assistance, and other mobility-support tasks as outlined in the residents' care plans.
- Monitor residents' skin condition and report any changes or concerns to the nursing team.
- Collaborate with nursing and therapy staff to support residents' rehabilitation goals.
- Ensure bathing and restorative care areas are clean, organized, and meet safety standards.
- Document care provided in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with residents, promoting their independence and well-being.
Qualifications:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Previous experience in a nursing home, rehab facility, or similar setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of restorative care techniques is a plus, but training can be provided.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to caregiving.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to assist residents with transfers and mobility exercises.
