The RN Residency at Augusta Health is an evidence-based transition to practice program designed for recent graduates of nursing programs or nurses with less than a year of experience. This challenging transition from nursing student to professional nurse is facilitated by our residency program, which includes collaboration with a unit-specific preceptor and clinical nurse educators.
Our program provides support and resources to facilitate educational and professional growth, ensuring that new hires are equipped to succeed in their roles.

Program Structure
The residency program is structured to meet the needs of both new hires and the organization. Placement in each unit will be determined based on hospital needs and assessed monthly.

Job Requirements
To be eligible for the residency program, applicants must:
- Be a graduate of an accredited nursing program or have less than a year of full-time acute care experience.
- Be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
