Job Description

A Level 1 Mechanic (Lube Technician) is responsible for performing corrective repairs, preventive maintenance, and DOT inspections on the company's fleet and equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, expertise in preventive maintenance, and a solid understanding of maintenance tools and software systems. A valid Driver’s License is required. This is an entry level position with potential to advance as knowledge and ability develop.

REPORTS TO : Lead Mechanic

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Maintain cleanliness and organization within the shop, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Communicate effectively to ensure smooth coordination within the shop.
Assist lead mechanic with daily tasks.
Conduct routine inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
Conduct preventative maintenance on company vehicles and equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues on company assets, including DOT equipment.
Report any mechanical concerns or issues to lead mechanic.
Use maintenance and diagnostic software.
Perform activities to include, but not limited to, clean-up of chemical and water spills, equipment leaks, and other duties as assigned.
Operate light and heavy equipment to include, but not limited to, pumps, forklifts, and man lifts.
Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Ability to withstand strenuous physical exertion.

Ability to spend considerable amounts of time standing, walking, climbing, hoisting, and bending over.

Ability to lift 50-75lb.

Ability to work in an environment with potentially elevated noise levels and confined spaces.

Ability to work in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic or corrosive.

Ability to properly wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Ability to withstand shifts that typically, but not always, exceed 8 hours.

Ability to withstand shifts that may extend beyond 8 hours, up to 12-24 hours.
