General Scope: This position's responsibility will be to proactively engage with prospective members — primarily small businesses and nonprofit organizations — through phone, email, and in-person meetings. This role is crucial for driving membership recruitment, fostering grassroots participation, and maintaining knowledge of Chamber programs and services to engage new and existing members effectively.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be an experienced sales professional with proven success in cultivating new membership opportunities and promoting membership benefits. The ideal candidate will also possess strong communication skills, a self-starter mentality, and exceptional organizational abilities. A minimum of three years of experience in cold calling and consistently exceeding sales goals is required.
Duties:
Ø Lead Generation & Prospecting:
Develop and manage a pipeline of new member prospects, targeting small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Recommend tailored membership packages based on prospect needs, leveraging Chamber benefits to drive sign-ups.
Ø Member Retention:
Implement strategies to retain members by utilizing retention tools such as the Ambassador Committee and other member engagement resources. Focus on minimizing attrition and maintaining strong relationships with existing members.
Ø Collaboration with the Ambassador Committee:
Partner with the Ambassador Committee to enhance member satisfaction and engagement. Assist Ambassador Co-Chairs in committee meetings and collaborate to set agendas and goals.
Ø Relationship Building:
Build strong, lasting relationships with business members, Board members, staff, and community partners. Represent the Chamber as the premier business organization in the region.
Ø Member Engagement & Customer Service:
Serve as the primary liaison for transactional and small business members to ensure they maximize their membership benefits. Address inquiries, assist with member issues, and provide solutions to foster strong engagement.
Ø Event Participation:
Attend and represent the Chamber at ribbon cuttings, community events, and meetings to raise visibility and encourage member participation.
Ø Database Management:
Manage the Novi membership database, ensuring member records are up-to-date and identify opportunities for future updates to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Ø Targeted Member Communications:
Implement member communication strategies that are segmented based on member type. Use technology to ensure that communications are personalized and effective.
Ø Internal Collaboration:
Work closely with Chamber staff to ensure high customer service and member satisfaction levels. Collaborate across teams to create a seamless member experience.
Ø Member Recognition:
Serve as the central point of contact for member celebrations, news, and achievements. Collaborate with the Communications team to maximize visibility and recognition for members.

Pay: From $35,000.00 per year
