*Overview*
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk, and determining appropriate coverage levels. The Underwriter will work closely with agents and other stakeholders to ensure that all decisions align with the company’s risk management strategies.
*Responsibilities*
- Evaluate insurance applications for property and casualty coverage, analyzing factors such as property value, location, occupancy, construction type, and claims history to determine the level of risk.
- Approve or decline insurance applications based on the underwriting guidelines and risk assessments, ensuring that all policies issued align with the company’s risk tolerance.
- Provide tailored coverage recommendations to agents, ensuring that proposed policies meet the specific needs of clients while protecting the company’s interests.
- Collaborate with claims adjusters to review claims on insured properties, ensuring that claims are valid and consistent with policy terms and underwriting standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, providing guidance and support on complex underwriting decisions and fostering a collaborative approach to risk management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to maintain compliance and enhance decision-making.
- Maintain detailed records of underwriting decisions, risk assessments, and policy changes, ensuring that all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements.
*Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and underwriting principles
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong phone and email communication skills
- Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
