Performs tasks related to shop inventory for supplies, materials, equipment and vehicles, and maintenance of gasoline or diesel driven hand tools within the guidelines of departmental standards and procedures, verbal instructions, and manufacturers’ guidance. Provides grounds maintenance, cleans and maintains vehicles, equipment, containers, and the shop area. Reports to the Deputy Director, P&R Parks Maintenance or Designee and works with co-workers, employees, and the public to provide maintenance services.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

- Operates storeroom, performs daily inventory checks, services trucks and obtains proper tools and/or equipment to perform job task. Checks equipment supplies and tools in and out. Updates inventory of material and supplies; receives warehouse deliveries.
- Receives and reviews purchase requisitions; issues and place purchase orders; obtains price quotes from vendors; distributes copies and maintain files.
- Performs general labor tasks associated with hand tools upkeep, facilities upkeep, grounds maintenance and shop maintenance.
- Cleans and washes vehicles and equipment. Services shop hand tools and cleans shop area. Orders supplies for operations, distributes equipment, and maintains supply room.
- As required Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.
Experience: Two (2) years' experience in a similar position or related to inventory management
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to understand and comply with County and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to operate and perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Ability to maintain power and hand tools.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Proficient computer skills to enter and manage warehouse inventory.
- Requires staff call up in an emergency situation.
- Requires less than 50% travel from office to other locations
