What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Technician I position at Augusta-Richmond County?
- Issues parts, tools, supplies, orders, or other items. Fills work orders for parts and supplies from inventory. Pulls stock to fill work orders, reviews work orders to ensure accuracy and closes out completed work orders. Maintains logs/records of all materials checked out or issued.
- Receives materials, equipment, and supplies. Verifies incoming shipments against Purchase Orders to ensure accurate counts of incoming merchandise. Runs receiving report and performs basic data entry as needed.
- Shelves and stores materials, equipment, and supplies. Ensures proper labeling and shelving of inventory. Updates stocking levels, maintains inventory locations, and maintains related records and documentation.
- Conducts physical inventory count, inventory test counts, sight inventory, and low stock checks and adjustments. Verifies and adjusts inventory records, as needed. Resolves inventory variance reports.
- Maintains safety and cleanliness of warehouse. Performs daily inspection of the warehouse and surrounding area for unauthorized entry and potential unsafe working conditions. Performs general cleaning and housekeeping tasks. Alerts supervisor to problems and concerns as needed.
Education: High School diploma or GED {Please note: Upon job offer, you will be required to provide proof of education. Be sure to have the appropriate documents readily available.}
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in installation, maintenance and repair work or related field.
Certification: Must possess and maintain a valid Forklift certification.
Licensing Requirements: Possession of a valid driver’s license with good driving history. If State license is other than Georgia or South Carolina, applicant must obtain a license in Georgia or South Carolina within 30 days of employment. ***This position operates county vehicles.***
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of warehouse inventory, equipment and parts utilized in water and sewer repair, inventory and storekeeping procedures, and standard methods and practices of warehouse or storeroom operations.
- Familiarity with departmental policies governing warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in data entry and storing and inventorying supplies and equipment.
- Mastery of using adding machines, calculators, computers and performing basic math.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Possess or have ability to obtain a valid state operator/driver’s license for the type vehicle or equipment operated.
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
