Convention Services Manager for the Augusta Convention Center (at the Marriott)
After group business is sold by the Sales Team it is turned over to the Convention Services Manager to put the details together and deliver a first-class meeting for the customer. Exceptional communication skills are the foundation of this person's success. (Both written and verbal). Understanding the customer's needs and delivering them according to their budget, finalizing the details in the computer, ensuring delivery of the contract, meeting with internal teams for set up needs, understanding the Audio visual needs, meeting room set up needs, working with the culinary team on catering/menues, understanding the guest room reservation process, being on-site for guest arrival, ensuring service delivery of their meeting and ensuring it all matches the contract is a brief synopsis of this position. It is all about the details! This person works at a strong pace and must be able to be present at their client events which may be nights, weekends or holidays.

The ideal candidate will have:
- A college or 2 year degree (Hospitality degree a plus)
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality sales, marketing, convention services, catering or meeting planning.
- Have an understanding of food and beverage, AV and rooms reservations
- Be very detail oriented
- Have advanced computer skills
- Flexible, versatile and customer focused
- Ability to up-sell, understand costs, billing
- Ability to meet all deadliness with great accuracy
- Ability to coordinate teams to work together to deliver service
- Clear detailed communication face to face, in writing and by telephone
