JOB SUMMARY:
The Imager works in prepress operations, performing tasks related to screen cleaning, preparation, imaging, screen inspection, and ink preparation. Employees may specialize in one task area or be cross trained to work across multiple areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes other duties as required):
- Clean used screens by removing all old ink and store numbered screens in assigned racks.
- Dip non-number screens as needed and power wash to remove all emulsion.
- Degrease, vacuum, and place screens in designated racks to dry.
- Coat screens with new emulsion and stack them to dry in the coating area.
- Image screens, burn them per protocol, soak and rinse imaged screens as required, and prep screens (e.g., tape edges) for use by Printers.
- Inspect imaged screens for defects, making corrections as needed.
- Move approved screens to the staging area and layout area with corresponding documentation.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to spot defects and ensure quality in imaged screens.
- Efficiently manage tasks to meet production deadlines.
- Previous experience in a prepress or printing environment is a plus, but not mandatory.

- Overtime and weekend work may be requested during busy periods
