JOB SUMMARY:
The DC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to outbound shipping and receiving operations within the distribution center. This role includes managing personnel, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining operational efficiency to meet or exceed customer service goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes other duties as required):
- Supervises, coordinates, and directs the activities of subordinate workers involved in verifying and maintaining records of outgoing shipments and preparing outbound items.
- Reviews invoices, orders, customer specifications, shipping history, freight charges, and other records to determine priorities, work assignments, and procedures required to meet daily schedules.
- Oversees all outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, service levels, and completeness.
- Disciplines employees and addresses inquiries/resolves issues, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Reads and understands pick ticket labels, work orders, and shipping-related documents.
- Operates scanners to read bar code labels and processes customer orders efficiently.
- Assembles and verifies customer orders from open bins and inducts completed orders back into the main conveyor line.
- Determines and administers standardized procedures to expedite workflow safely and efficiently.
- Develops continuous improvement initiatives and engages employees in these efforts.
- Confers and cooperates with other departments as necessary.
- Compiles daily reports and communicates issues of non-compliance
- Assigns duties and examines work for accuracy, neatness, productivity, and conformance to policies.
- Completes daily timekeeping exception reports for employees.
- Inspects material handling equipment and notifies maintenance personnel of defects.
- Promotes safety at all times and adheres to company policies and procedures.
- Assists and trains employees in order processing and reporting.
- Verifies and compiles records on incoming shipments and prepares these receipts for storage.
- Compares incoming shipment information against records and verifies accuracy.
- Records amounts of inbound materials on standardized receiving documents.
- Creates and sorts carton labels from receiving documents as necessary.
- Runs reports of receipts and researches variances for problem resolution.
- Supports other DC areas to facilitate customer order processing.
- Participates in interviewing and selecting new staff, as well as in their onboarding and training.
- Tracks orders that the system indicates as picked but not shipped and corrects errors.
- Oversees safety, housekeeping, and sanitation programs within the department.
- Participates in the maintenance of departmental equipment and facilities.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role in a distribution or warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in computer skills and the ability to operate tablet technology.

- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Experience in performance management processes and employee relations.

- This position works in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse. It can be hot in the summer and cool in the winter.

- Exempt, Monday-Friday 10:30AM-7:00PM
DRESS CODE:
- Dress appropriate.
- Closed-toe shoes are required.
