Job Title: Residence Hall Director (Multiple Openings)

Augustana University is currently inviting applications for a Residence Hall Director. Residence Hall Directors serve as members of the Residence Life team within the division of Student Affairs, providing leadership and support to a dedicated, creative, and dynamic staff with responsibility for leading a comprehensive student life program.
Job duties: Responsible for providing leadership and support to a dedicated, creative, and dynamic staff creating comprehensive student life program for university students to promote their social and educational program development; supporting the University’s mission, vision, and core values; and collaborating with other departments and divisions to provide excellent service. The primary functions of the Residence Hall Director are to provide guidance to students on personal and social development; ensure safety; and supervise students and staff who work at the residence hall. Specific duties include: (1) managing one co-ed residence hall of 50 to 250 students; (2) providing direction to student staff in the development and implementation of programming designed to foster academic success, career exploration, wellness, diversity, community service, community building and development, and leadership development; (2) working with Director of Student Conduct to protect student safety and well-being in university housing facilities; (3) serving as a source of support and intervention for students experiencing personal and interpersonal difficulties; (4) providing academic support and mentorship to residence hall students through mental health counseling and other professional support; (5) working with the Director of Student Conduct for incidents that occur in university housing facilities; (6) maintaining office hours for residence hall to provide students with guidance on academic success, career exploration, and wellness; (7) assessing student crisis management needs and making referrals to appropriate offices and services; (8) overseeing student development programming and managing the budget; and (9) assisting and supporting the Residence Life/Student Affairs Department in achieving its goals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Student Affairs, Psychology, or related; 1 year of experience in a residence life program as either a student staff or professional staff. Housing provided.
