What are the responsibilities and job description for the Renewable Energy Pre-Con Intern position at AUI Partners?
The primary role of the Renewable Energy Intern is to assist the Preconstruction Team with the planning and execution of the Work. You will have the opportunity to learn and gain knowledge with hands-on experience. We are seeking passionate individuals who have a desire to continue their future in Renewable Energy construction.

Responsibilities:
- Estimating
- Review bid documents and attend pre-bid meetings
- Investigate project information before bid to identify potential problems, access
- issues, haul routes, waste areas, borrow areas, staging areas, trenching, equipment
- pads, tree removal, cut/fill, fencing, storm water and hydrology information, dump
- sites, AC and DC electrical distribution, low and medium voltage distribution, and
- data acquisition requirements.
- Ensure bid submittal documents are completed fully and correctly.
- Assure that estimates are accurate, complete, competitive, and delivered on
- time.
- Planning and Job Setup
- Participate in project hand-off meetings and pre-construction meetings.
- Assist and identify required resources to accomplish project goals.
- Participate in the setup and administration of the project schedule.
- Project Execution
- Maintain logs:
- o RFI
- o Submittals
- o Pending Change Orders Drawing Logs, Correspondence or Meeting Minutes
- Review and ensure subcontractors' and vendor compliance with the project
- schedule.
- Participate in Project Schedule Meetings.
Position Requirements:
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or renewable energy/electrical engineering.
- A desire to continue pursuing a career in the construction industry (Renewable Energy preferred)
- Strong computer skills are a necessity
- Coachable and willing to learn
- Can work in a team or individually
- Be available to work full-time during the internship period and travel/relocate to job sites (Per diem offered when travel is required)
- Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Able to work outside in extreme weather conditions
- Valid Driver’s License and state minimum auto insurance required as you may have to travel to a jobsite
- Reliable transportation required
