Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a talented and reliable Maintenance Technician who will preserve the condition, functionality, and safety of their assigned property and equipment by performing general maintenance tasks and repairs including, but not limited to, painting, electrical work, HVAC installations, plumbing, repair work, groundskeeping, landscaping, etc. The ideal candidate is a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, tools, and appliances and an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, HVAC maintenance, alarm systems inspection, snow removal and salting sidewalks, irrigation system inspection, and pest control to ensure the property and rental units are in good working order
- Complete repair work including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical work, painting, carpentry, dry wall repair, and lock repair and replacement
- Schedule and complete maintenance appointments for residents in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
- Quickly respond to emergency events, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocol
- Prepare vacant apartments prior to new occupant’s move-in date.
- Conduct general upkeep procedures including, but not limited to, landscaping, refuse pickup, and trash removal as well as maintain the cleanliness and safety of common areas such as lobby, hallways, and laundry rooms
- Aid in budget development and ensure it is followed.
- Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
- Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or relevant field is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of general maintenance experience
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand tools
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must supply your own tools for all common maintenance repairs
- Available to work overtime, weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
- Ability to travel between multiple properties
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
