As a Vehicle Testing Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and testing autonomous vehicles in cattle feedlots. Your role will include executing test plans, collecting performance data, and troubleshooting systems to ensure optimal operation of our autonomous vehicles. You will utilize your expertise in vehicle operation, diagnostics, and sensor systems to support testing efforts, refine vehicle functionality, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Operate autonomous vehicles within cattle feedlots, ensuring safety, precision, and adherence to operational protocols.
- Execute and document detailed test plans, including vehicle performance, system functionality, and environmental adaptability.
- Monitor, calibrate, and validate the performance of hydraulic, electrical, compute, and sensor systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, including mechanical, electrical, and software related problems, during testing.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data from vehicle sensors and systems to provide actionable insights to the engineering team.
- Work closely with engineers and technicians to suggest and implement improvements to vehicle performance and reliability.
- Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on vehicles to prepare for testing scenarios.
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure the vehicles operate within defined safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the care of test vehicles and associated equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to communicate findings and participate in problem solving discussions.
- Perform other duties as assigned in a professional and efficient manner. Required Skills / Abilities :
- Strong technical skills, with experience diagnosing and troubleshooting vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, and sensor-based components.
- Familiarity with autonomous vehicle systems, including sensors, ECUs, and navigation software, is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing test plans and data.
- Ability to operate and understand diagnostic tools, data acquisition systems, and precision measurement instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience with agricultural or feedlot environments is a plus.
