What are the responsibilities and job description for the LAUNDRY AIDE position at Aultman Orrville Hospital?
PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Linen Aide is responsible for: loading and unloading of bulk linen carts, sorting and folding linen, loading of exchange carts and delivering them to the floors or other areas, stocking the ScrubEx machines, gathering of dirty linen from chutes, and washing/drying of mops and rags.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
- Deliver linen carts from the dock and to the floors or other areas as required; May weigh up to 400 lbs
- Load exchange carts with linen from the bulk carts
- Hand fold or stack linen when necessary
- Gathering of dirty linen from chute rooms
- Operates tugger in a safe and effective manner
- Washing and drying of mops and rags
- Expected to report any and all mechanical issues with equipment
- Good physical condition with no limitations that could prevent the employee from stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and constantly being on their feet
- Communicates professionally with multiple levels of staff and maintains positive work relationships
- Utilizes infection control/isolation techniques and P.P.E. as appropriate
- Demonstrates accountability and commitment to coworkers
- Addresses issues in a timely manner
Able to communicate effectively and can read, write and follow oral and written instructions
Willing to work rapidly and accurately to meet patient needs
Observes Aultman Hospital dress code and wears identification badge
Complies with hospital attendance standards

Job Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent. Complete required organizational and unit competencies as assigned.
Excellent customer service, computer and communication skills.
