Veterinary Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care for animals while supporting our veterinary staff in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for animal welfare and possess the necessary skills to assist in various veterinary procedures and client interactions.

Duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations through restraining animals, entering medical notes and billing charges.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
• Perform basic grooming tasks such as anal gland expressions and nail trims.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning exam rooms.
• Schedule follow up appointments and answer client inquiries.
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care and health maintenance.
• Monitor animal behavior and report any changes to the veterinary staff.

Skills

• Proficiency in Veterinary critical care practices is preferred.
• Radiology certification is desirable.
• 1 year(s) experience as a Veterinary Assistant is required.
• Knowledge of Cornerstone practice software is a plus!
• Strong understanding of pet care techniques and animal physiology.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Compassionate attitude towards animals and their well-being.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
