Job Summary:
The Kitchen Assistant is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the kitchen team in food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Support:
- Assist with basic food prep tasks, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
- Help with assembling plates and packaging food for service or storage.
- Ensure food items are properly labeled and stored according to safety guidelines.
- Support cooks by providing necessary ingredients and supplies during service.
Kitchen Operations:
- Maintain a steady supply of platters, utensils, and cooking tools.
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist in setting up and cleaning cooking areas, steam tables, and refrigerators.
- Report any kitchen issues or shortages to the senior kitchen staff.
Cleaning & Sanitation:
- Ensure all kitchen surfaces, equipment, and tools are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Dispose of trash and maintain cleanliness in storage and prep areas.
Other Duties:
- Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the kitchen manager or chef.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous kitchen or food service experience is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food handling and sanitation guidelines is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions.
