Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Childcare Director to lead and manage our Murfreesboro center. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for child development, an in-depth understanding of early childhood education practices, and a strong background in leadership. As the Assistant Childcare Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the center, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of care, safety, and educational excellence. You will play a key role in creating a nurturing environment for both children and staff, fostering growth, learning, and a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Staff Management:
- Supervise and mentor a team of educators and support staff, providing guidance, professional development, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement staff training programs to ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate important updates, goals, and provide ongoing support.
- Ensure a positive, supportive work environment that encourages staff collaboration, innovation, and engagement.
- Handle staffing issues, including recruitment, hiring, scheduling, and retention of qualified staff.
- Program Development & Curriculum Implementation:
- Oversee the development and implementation of a high-quality, age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with early childhood education standards.
- Ensure that the curriculum promotes the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development of children.
- Work with lead teachers and educators to assess children's progress and adjust learning activities and lesson plans as needed.
- Incorporate best practices in child development into program planning and activities.
- Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing requirements, safety protocols, and health standards.
- Maintain accurate records related to enrollment, health, safety, and education, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Regularly review policies and procedures to ensure the center meets or exceeds accreditation and licensing standards.
- Monitor facility safety, cleanliness, and overall maintenance to ensure a secure and nurturing environment for children.
- Parent and Community Relations:
- Establish strong, positive relationships with parents and families, serving as a point of contact for any concerns or feedback.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and development through meetings, emails, or newsletters.
- Organize parent engagement events and activities to foster a strong sense of community and involvement.
- Address and resolve any concerns or conflicts raised by parents, children, or staff in a professional and timely manner.
- Budget & Financial Management:
- Manage the center's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial policies.
- Oversee billing, tuition collections, and the financial health of the center.
- Develop cost-effective strategies to maintain high-quality services while adhering to the budget.
- Operations & Facility Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the center, including scheduling, classroom assignments, and logistics.
- Ensure the facility is safe, well-maintained, and equipped with the necessary materials and supplies for educational activities.
- Develop emergency preparedness plans and ensure staff and children are trained in safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Experience as in childcare managemant or in a similar leadership role within an early childhood education setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles, licensing regulations, and best practices in child care.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and children.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, financial planning, and administrative tasks effectively.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and other relevant child care certifications (or the ability to obtain within a specified time)..
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, along with benefits including , paid time off and professional development opportunities

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
