The CNC Lathe Setup / Operator is responsible for setting up CNC machines according to blueprint specifications, and selecting the appropriate fixtures, cutting tools, attachments and materials. After manufacturing the product, the machinist checks with precision measuring tools to ensure all specifications are met, making adjustments as necessary.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate CNC lathes. Set up and run quality first part experience preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Previous training or technical certification a plus.
- Experience interpreting blueprint dimensions and using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, precision dial gauges); strong attention to detail.
- Strong team player and self-motivator.
Physical Requirements
Must be capable of wearing the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) necessary to comply with government and company safety policies. The CNC Lathe position requires standing, bending, lifting materials weighing up to 50 lbs., twisting and gripping.
