What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Technician position at Aureon?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demarc Extensions with fiber or Cat5 cabling
- Installation at customer site of network devices and CPE such as switches and IP Phones
- UPS Battery Swaps and equipment additions on customer premise
- Maintain remote POP locations: audit records, battery plant, A/C units, and generators
- Supporting of Fiber Network and Transport technicians during projects and outages
- Individuals will be on-call on a rotating schedule
- Some overtime is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Occasional overnight maintenance
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
- Two-year technical degree or technical experience strongly preferred, but right candidate without may be considered.
- Knowledge and use of hand tools
- Experience with Cat5 cable termination
- Experience with fiber optic cabling is a plus
- Outside plant knowledge including ability to locate underground fiber optic cable a plus

TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND SOFTWARE:
- Demonstrated knowledge of personal computer applications Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Outlook
- Strong knowledge in the use of ConnectWise and MetaSolv
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Outdoor and indoor work.
- Travel required some overnight
- Ability to lift 75lbs
