Auria is looking to hire a Senior System Engineer to join our Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. The primary work location is in either Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL.
The candidate must be flexible and can support various tasks on short notice. Work will be performed under the direction of the C2BMC-G Team Engineering Manager and Product Owner, and supporting multiple project engineers requires interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within the available resources.

Essential Functions:
- Perform requirements elicitation using behavioral artifacts such as use cases that are used both to understand and convey an understanding of the required behaviors and performance of the system
- Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews
- Responsibilities include adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts as required
- Actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development, including iteration planning, start using, and supporting Agile team leadership
- Excellent communication skills are required, as is the ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings

- Current/active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience
- or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience,
- or a PhD and 4 years of experience,
- or 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered
- 5 years of experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems and specialty engineers to develop solutions that include a background in all systems development life cycle aspects
- Must have demonstrated contributions to implementation that include the ability to analyze high-level needs and define a structured and logical approach to refine the capability into an integrated set of requirements that have led to a fielded product
- Must have demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively, clearly present technical approaches and findings, and have experience writing and implementing project engineering plans
- Must possess an understanding of systems engineering processes and principles
- Must have a proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions
- Must have experience in requirements elicitation, including using behavior diagrams as an analysis tool to understand and decompose requirements
- Must have experience developing system engineering artifacts:
- Specifications
- Interface Control Documents
- Use Cases
- System Architecture Descriptions
- Trade Studies, etc
- Must have experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions
- Must have experience working within an Agile development environment, experience with Systems Analysis, Metric Development, and Architecture development
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs
- Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification is highly desired
- Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP - MBF) is highly desired
- Space and Terrestrial sensor and Missile Defense System prior experience and familiarity are desirable
