Auria is looking to hire a System Engineer (Safety) to support the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. Work location is in Colorado Springs, CO.
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a critical component of the Missile Defense System. It enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations, observe battle developments, and manage networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability, optimizing responses to threats across all phases of flight. It is integral to all system ground and flight tests, verifying and exercising current and future missile defense capabilities.

Essential Functions:
- Manage an on-site team providing engineering support
- Develop program safety plans to provide the engineering team with the application of safety policies and guidance
- Support MDA and other program personnel as required, as well as other system engineering tasks
- Interface with team members and National Team management to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within available resources
- Integration of product lines, generation of responsible sections of capability specifications, training less experienced personnel in SE and Safety techniques, reviewing technical product content and details, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts as required

- Current/active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience,
- or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience,
- or a PhD and 1 years of experience,
- or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs
- Strong System Engineering background with specialization in System and Software Safety
- Experience analyzing design to ensure safety requirements are met
- Ability to apply engineering principles to analyze and recommend design features that meet safety criteria in system design to control or eliminate hazards
- Experience developing safety documents to support customer and test requirements (SAR, SRA, SSPP)
- Experience with hazard identification and participation in System Safety Working Groups
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-882E is essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical approaches and findings
- Active and current Top Secret clearance is highly desired
